I'm a lucky husband! You know why? Besides being loved by a wonderful woman, she does such a wonderful job cooking, I thought I'd share a little about her good work with the world. I also love to collect her food. It provides me a history of all the sweet and memorable dishes she has put her heart into for the family. I also like to put places that interest me, mostly places in Virginia right now. There are also pictures of food, from other sources. I've been adding different items.

Avocado Toast
The other day, she made avocado toast. I liked it because i like guacamole, but the cracked pepper and sea salt put a nice crisp taste to it. Oh, I think it was some type of whole grain bread. That is such a good snack!
Thank you sweetheart and thank you for taking care of my parents and all of us this week, since they are visiting. :)

Onion Soup
I asked for onion soup and we got a chance to enjoy this. I don't know what else she put in it. No added sugar, but it was sweet and good. It took a little while to caramelize the onions, which I didn't know it took that long. She made me stir often.
Great food. Oh, vegan of course. The cheese was almond cheese... I believe.
And some pictures I was happy to get from the Back Bay Reserve.

Peaches and Napa Grapes
Thank you for the Napa Grapes! They are my favorite! The
peaches were also very good.

Tempura - On a nice Sunday afternoon - Delicious Sweetheart
Tempura is so delicious. It was really tasty today. I think that every time she makes it... it gets tastier. ;)
Well, it was fresh oil, and fresh vegetables. I feel so much better to have such delicious fresh food like this. Thank you Sweetheart. :)

Navy Chow - USS Carr - Dinner
Old pictures I was going through today. I thought they were pretty amazing.
The potatoes were good... they always had that good "cafeteria" style gravy.
Where did the cafeteria go in America? I really miss that type of dining.
If anyone has pictures of a cafeteria you like, please post 'em.
The picture below has a table in it with no table covering. Usually trays and cups would slide around if there wasn't a cloth on it. They usually had a rubber tablecloth so it made it easier for your trays and cups to stay put.
Sometimes you would eat with one hand and catch your neighbors tray with the other hand while they got up to get something to drink.
This was the legendary USS CARR cup to drink coffee from. It was legendary, because the one MA (master-at-arms) would get onto us for using them too much. They were supposed to be for the detainee's on board.
There were still plenty for everyone though. :)
The crew had to have something too darn it!
Sitting around having coffee was quite the thing to do. Even in foreign ports... we were out looking for wi-fi connections. Then we would order coffee and get online.... sad isn't it. ;) Although, there has been much sightseeing still accomplished.
Some guys would say if they had full wi-fi on the ship in the mess decks, they wouldn't even leave the ship when we pulled in. LOL.
Great new cheese blog I found. Shows how to make a white cheese. Link.

Vegan - Pizza
I'm probably going to be in trouble for putting a messy picture here, but this pizza was really good. I have been craving pizza, but she managed to satiate that need by creating these tasty pies. All vegan and I don't have to worry about my cholesterol going up at all. :)
There is many different types of vegan cheeses, but this type is almond cheese.
Later for a simple dessert drink... almond milk or soy milk.
Thank you so much, Yum!

Tofu Scrambled! - Vegan Style Breakfast - Thank you!
This time my sweetheart made us scrambled tofu and some super good pancakes. That isn't real butter either so... no worries there. :)
I don't know exactly how she does it, but it's great. The syrup was 100% pure maple syrup not corn syrup. She loves to use that stuff sparingly because it costs sooo much. ;) The pancakes had fresh blueberries as well.
Steel Cut Oats
We sometimes eat this in the morning or for a snack. She introduced this (steel cut oats) to me and frankly it's delicious. I don't know why, but the texture is a bit more interesting too.
We put almond/soy mild on it, sliced almonds, cinnamon and a little sweetener. A little sweetener.
PETA - Vegan Food
I went to the PETA Foundation in Norfolk, Va the other day with my wife. She asked if I wanted to go. I said "sure." Once we got there, we met a couple people. It wasn't that bad. We helped out getting packages set-up for mailing and we were also introduced to how they do business.
The person heading it up brought some Chinese food there, but it was vegan food. No meat or animal products. The Chinese food came from Dragon City, 2301 Colley Ave, Ste D, Norfolk, VA 23517.
Anyhow, it was delicious. I wish I had a picture to place here for now, but nothing yet.
Interesting trip for the husband with good eats.

Vegan Burgers
I love these sandwiches. I used to be a huge hamburger fan, but I feel that with this type of sandwich I get many more delicious flavors. I don't have a recipe but you could see or ask this blogger for that.
The lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes and avocado a nice sauce... makes this sammich good!
