Midrats -

Mid-rats (Midnight Rations) 

The plate below was filled with hard rice and beans. The beans were not that bad though, just cold. 

Gravy and bread was the entree of the night. The cereal was a decoration. (No milk)

The picture below, is a poor container of cereal that someone left out. They would of probably eaten it, but since there was no milk, it was dramatically stabbed with a spoon then left it out. 

Malbon Bros. Virginia Beach, VA

Malbon Bros.

Malbon Bros. BBQ... passed it a few times, but thought to stop this time. It was pretty good. Fun environment and the folks setting up the food were pretty nice as well. I didn't take any pictures of the food, but the link is right above. 

Rick's Cafe, Virginia Beach, VA

Rick's Cafe, was a place i noticed was open, and decided to drive in and see what it was all about. The people were friendly, a basic diner,not too bad. A few police and older folks were there when I was there, but the biscuits and gravy was delicious. 

For a place to grab home made  food "chow hall" style, try ricks. I miss the old diner, or cafeteria types of restaurants. 

Ricks's isn't the place to get rowdy... the camera in the below picture is always on the watch. 

Mess Decks - US Navy

Here are some pictures I've updated from last weeks meals. We had  ribs, some type of macaroni with cheese on the top, some type of shrimp spaghetti.

The plate below was corn, chicken, mashed potatoes and beef gravy, Salisbury steak. 

This is basically the chow line. This stuff was sitting out for folks who get hungry later at night. 

And of course, wings and spaghetti. The fountain drink (Coke) are usually not that bad. It can be a little watered down, but that actually makes it a bit more quenching... not so sweet. 

Greek Festival, Norfolk, Virginia. It was cool. The band was a little too LOUD, but that's cool I'm getting older... and pickier! 

Any how, I found out that you could of eaten inside too. It was nice in there. We will remember that for next year. The food was good and the people were friendly. 

I thought that they could probably of set that scene up a little better, but all was ok.

Pizza & Wings 28 April 2012

I look forward to this night! :P 

It's usually when we are out to sea, on a Saturday. The pizza is pretty good, and the wings are fine. 

Let's eat!

Oh, some say the salad dressing looks like nacho cheese. Well, it was Thousand Island salad dressing!

It was so nice out this day. The ocean was still lonely. 

Nachos

Here are some pictures of some nachos they made us on the ship. They weren't too bad. :P 

I had a small portion, then went back for some more.

This meal was on the ship. Not sure what it was though. :) I think I got it from the "speed" line. The quick food line. :) Oh, the noodles are usually pretty good though.
